Assignment 2: Second Life

I'm doing my research for assignment 2 on Second Life, a program brought to you by Linden Labs. This program takes virtual communities at a whole new level since it encompasses the scripting for you to do ANYTHING you can imagine. Check out the program at www.secondlife.com. This is a future-forward, and in many ways, a pessimistic (but potentially realistic) view of the harmful effects of virtual life taking over real-life, alongside a cautionary tale about avatar addiction. Your thorough research has enabled you to come up with an imaginative series of prototypical narratives, and a really creative response to this assignment. Your willingness to take a risk with the project has really paid off.
the difference with SIMs and Second Life is that SIMs is intended to be a game. It also doesn't have the scripting for you to do anything you can imgaine.
in fact, the first thing i did when i joined Second Life was found myself a gun and started shooting random people (please don't try this at home). it was soon after i got a warning in my email by Linden Labs...
